In the Dream arc of the manga, she recognizes that as much as she loves Mamoru, she also understands that he is her future father. So as Black Lady, her affection for Mamoru/her father is increased by X amount and becomes a warped version of what it is. In the manga, we see that Chibi-Usa actually knows that Usagi and Mamoru are her future mother and father, but in the original anime, she doesn't know and she is unable to reconciliate the images of her parents with Usagi and Mamoru. When Wiseman/Death Phantom corrupts Chibi-Usa, turning her into Black Lady, he literally corrupts everything about her and twists her memories and views into very warped versions of what they originally were. And chances are, her father, King Endymion, is more then likely one of the only male members in her life. All she's known, up until Black Moon's attack, has been uninterrupted peace. And as Small Lady, I would imagine that her life is very, very sheltered. She does not understand all the nuances of the word 'love' at this point in her life. Seeing as how she cannot physically age, she still has the mind of a 4 or 5 year old.

During Black Moon, it is shown that Chibi-Usa is still very, very innocent, and mentally very, very, very young and yet very mature for her age. It's made pretty clear that HE didn't die during the Earth/Moon war, and he was never reincarnated he is still in his original body and still carries those memories, because like the Four Heavenly Kings, he originally served Prince Endymion as High Priest of Elysion.īut yeah now that I think of it, Helios is less a human being, and more of a minor deity of sorts, given that he is apparently immortal, although he can be killed.Īs for Chibi-Usa/Mamoru.I won't lie, Naoko Takeuchi got kind of weird with the whole Electra Complex thing. But because she was unable to transform, she was unable to age further, or physically grow any larger - and it isn't until she finally transforms that she finally begins to actually age, and grow.Īs for Helios, it is strongly implied that he is most likely considered an immortal being Helios speaks fondly of remembering Mamoru as Prince Endymion back in ancient times on Earth, before the war between Earth and the Moon. If you wanted to be SUPER technical about ages, then remember that Chibi Usa is well over 900 years old at any rate - technically making her older then her father and mother both.
